Can I move my Nikon after a shot while Long Exposure NR is running?

On a Nikon D5600, enabling Long Exposure Noise Reduction makes the camera spend about as long processing as the original exposure. I understand this is because it records a dark frame with the shutter closed and subtracts that noise from the image. During that noise-reduction period after a 10–15 second exposure, can I move the camera or change composition, or should it stay in the same position until processing finishes?

The camera shutter is closed then, during the extra noise processing to examine the dark space. So moving the camera then will not affect the picture, the shutter is closed, and the Viewfinder is restored functional.

Yes—generally you can move the camera while Long Exposure NR is running, because the shutter is closed during the dark-frame capture, so camera movement will not blur or change the recorded image.
The main thing to avoid is changing the camera’s temperature significantly during that time. Long-exposure noise depends heavily on sensor temperature, so the dark frame works best if conditions stay similar to the original shot. Reframing on a tripod or moving the camera slightly is usually fine. But moving it from sun to shade, shade to sun, or from cold outdoor air into a warm coat or indoors could reduce the effectiveness of the noise reduction.
So: position does not matter much, but keeping temperature conditions similar does.
