Can the Fujifilm FinePix HS20 shoot tethered to a computer?

I use a Fujifilm FinePix HS20 and want to know whether it supports tethered shooting with a PC or laptop. Ideally, I'd like either to trigger the shutter from the computer or to shoot on the camera and have the images appear directly on the computer without a normal import step. Is this supported natively, and if not, is there any device or software workaround?

The Fuji Finepix HS20 does not offer that functionality itself.
However, you can use a Toshiba FlashAir SDHC card which is a WiFi access point. All you need it to use the shutter to take shots and use the computer to browse the card. You will see your images as they get shot.
Alternately, you can get an EyeFi card which is more complicated to setup because it has to connect to your computer, rather than the other way around.

The FinePix HS20 does not natively support true tethered shooting. Based on the community answers, you can’t control the camera shutter from a computer or use it as a fully tethered capture device.
A workaround is to use a Wi-Fi SD card such as a Toshiba FlashAir or Eye-Fi. With these, you still press the shutter on the camera, but the images can be viewed on the computer as they are written to the card, avoiding a manual import routine.
Of the two mentioned, FlashAir was described as simpler because the card acts as a Wi-Fi access point and the computer browses the card directly. Eye-Fi can do something similar, but setup may be more involved because it connects through the computer/network side instead.
So: no native remote shooting from the computer, but wireless SD cards may provide near-instant image transfer for review on a larger screen.
