Can Lightroom sync or manage photos already uploaded to a Facebook album?

I originally edited photos in Lightroom but uploaded them to a Facebook page album through a web browser. Now I’d like to start using Lightroom’s Facebook Publish Service. If I add those same photos to a Publish Collection, can Lightroom synchronize with the existing Facebook album and keep comments/likes in sync, or does Lightroom only manage photos that were originally published from Lightroom?

From my experience you can only upload photos to Facebook. Once they're there you can't manage them from lightroom. You have to login and managed them on Facebook.

Lightroom’s Facebook Publish Service generally only manages photos that were published to Facebook from Lightroom itself. If the photos were uploaded directly through a browser, Lightroom won’t link to those existing Facebook uploads, so you won’t get comment/like synchronization for them through the Publish Service.
In practice, Lightroom can upload new photos to Facebook, but existing Facebook photos usually have to be managed on Facebook rather than from Lightroom.
