Can Lightroom mobile sync only selected photos from a collection based on star ratings or flags?

In Lightroom Classic, I have large collections but only want certain images to sync to Lightroom mobile/iPhone. For example, if a collection contains 500 photos and only 50 are flagged or rated 3 stars and above, can I sync only those selected images instead of the entire collection? Is there a built-in way to do this, or do I need a workaround or plugin?

The easiest way I can see around this would be to create a smart collection with your filters then copy its contents to a new collection and sync the new collection. I realize that this is extra work you would probably like to avoid, but I don't believe there is any way around it at the current time.

Lightroom doesn’t natively sync only part of a regular collection to mobile based on flags or star ratings. In practice, the usual workaround is to use a Smart Collection filtered by your criteria, then copy those matching photos into a separate normal collection and sync that collection instead.

If you want to automate this more directly, a third-party option mentioned by users is Jeffrey Friedl’s Smart Collection Sync plugin, which is designed to help sync Smart Collection results.

So, built-in: not really for partial collection sync. Workaround: filtered Smart Collection → copy to synced collection. Plugin option: yes, if you want a more automated solution.
