Can Lightroom 6 create a timelapse video without LRTimelapse?

I know LRTimelapse is a popular plugin/workflow for creating timelapse videos from Lightroom 6. Is it actually required, or can Lightroom 6 export a timelapse on its own? If Lightroom can do it, are there any limitations to the result compared with using a dedicated timelapse workflow?

Yes, you can manually set the slide duration a slideshow to be 0.04s (25 fps). However, I've found that the resulting product isn't as good as other methods of stitching together timelapses.

Yes. Lightroom 6 can create a basic timelapse without LRTimelapse by exporting your image sequence as a slideshow/video and setting a very short slide duration (for example around 0.04 s, which is about 25 fps). So the plugin is not strictly required.

That said, the community answers note some limitations: Lightroom’s built-in slideshow/video output is fairly basic, may default to frame rates that aren’t ideal, and the result can look more like a slideshow than a polished timelapse if the timing isn’t set well. In practice, dedicated timelapse tools or workflows often produce better-looking results and offer more control over frame rate and rendering.

So the short version is: Lightroom 6 can do it on its own, but LRTimelapse or another dedicated method may give you a smoother, more video-like final output.
