Can Capture One export progressive JPEGs without recompressing twice?

I can't find an option in Capture One to export a progressive JPEG. If Capture One doesn't support that directly, is there a way to export to another format first and then make a progressive JPEG while only doing the JPEG compression once? What intermediate format or workflow should I use?

You ought to be able to export from Capture One in a lossless format like PNG or TIFF, then perform the JPEG compression of that lossless file once, and once only, with whatever settings you like from your choice of conversion/compression software - almost everything recent should be able to handle both PNG and TIFF as a source format.

Capture One does not appear to support direct export to progressive JPEG.
If you want to avoid JPEG compression twice, export from Capture One to a lossless intermediate format such as TIFF or PNG, then convert that file to a progressive JPEG in another application. That way, the JPEG encoding happens only once.
Using TIFF or PNG is important because they are lossless, unlike JPEG. So you won’t be degrading the image by doing a JPEG-to-JPEG conversion.
That said, progressive JPEG usually offers very little practical benefit. The size savings are small, creation can be slower, and many modern browsers/viewers no longer provide much advantage from progressive rendering. Unless you specifically need progressive JPEGs for a workflow requirement, a normal JPEG export is often the better choice.
