Can a CFast 1 card reader read a CFast 2.0 memory card?

I know CFast 1 is based on SATA II and CFast 2.0 uses SATA III. Since SATA III is generally backward compatible with SATA II, can a CFast 1 reader read a CFast 2.0 card, or do CFast 2.0 cards require a different reader altogether?

No. A CFast 1 reader will not read a CFast 2.0 card. Even though SATA standards can be backward compatible in some contexts, CFast 2.0 cards and readers use a different physical and data interface arrangement, so they are not backward compatible with older CFast 1 readers. To access files on a CFast 2.0 card, you need a reader specifically designed for CFast 2.0.

No, you cannot use a CFast 1 card reader to read a CFast 2.0 memory card. CFast 2.0 cards have a different physical and data interface, and they are not backward compatible with CFast 1 card readers. You will need a CFast 2.0 card reader to access the data on a CFast 2.0 memory card.
