Take a different approach to photography in today's digital world with the Nikon F3/T 35mm SLR Camera. The camera uses a center-weighted exposure metering system with an operating range of EV 1–18. You can Compose the scene with the optical viewfinder that shows different camera settings for quick review. The camera has a K-type focusing screen with split image center spot with a microprism circle. With this SLR, you can take multiple exposures on a single frame to create unique effects. The titanium body of the camera ensures durability.

Optics and Focus

The Nikon F3/T is compatible with Nikon AIS, AF and AF-D lenses along with non-G type AF-S lenses. With the center-weighted exposure metering, you can use the camera in lighting conditions from EV 1–18. You can select the exposure mode from aperture priority, manual, and TTL flash. In the manual mode, you can change the shutter speed from 8 seconds to 1/2000th of a second. The exposure compensation range of ± 2 EV is adjustable in 1/3rd EV steps. When viewing through the optical viewfinder, you can see the split-image spot surrounded by a microprism circle that guides you while focusing on the object.

Sensor and Screen

The DE-3 optical viewfinder of the Nikon F3/T has 0.75× magnification with a 50mm lens. Its screen coverage of 100% allows you to frame the scene accurately. The LCD in the viewfinder shows the shutter speed and exposure mode. You can see the aperture in the aperture-direct-readout window. Moreover, both the LCD and ADR are illuminated.

Image and Video

The Nikon F3/T takes exposures on 35mm film rolls. You can advance the film manually by winding the lever by 140°. An optional MD-4 Motor Drive can be used for automatic film winding and rewind. The mirror lock-up function prevents blur in the image when adjusting the exposure. With the double exposure mode, you can layer more than one exposure on a frame to produce creative results.

Other Features

This Nikon 35mm SLR comes with an accessory shoe and PC terminal for using an external flash. The accessory shoe provides support for Nikon Speedlights such as SB-17 and SB-16A. You can synchronize the shutter speed with the mounted flash at 1/80th of a second. The camera back has a memo holder for keeping a note of the current film in use. Press the depth-of-field preview button to view the final results of the set focus and exposure beforehand. Use two 1.5-Volt SR44 silver oxide batteries to power up the camera.
