The Canon Powershot G7X is a pocket-size powerhouse rendering rich, detailed images. It comes with a 20.2 MP CMOS sensor and DIGIC 6 image processor. The camera comes with a Canon 4.2× lens having a focal length of 24–100mm and a maximum aperture of f/1.8. It records full HD videos at a stunning 1080p with a frame rate of up to 60 fps. The 31 autofocus points help acquire quick and consistent focusing. The 3-inch touchscreen LCD of the camera lets you operate the various functions, analyze scenes, and watch the captured images and videos. The camera comes with a built-in flash with three flash sync modes. You may share the captured media by using the incorporated Wi-Fi. You may also playback the videos and images directly on your laptop by connecting it to the camera through the AV and HDMI D (micro) ports.

Optics and Focus

The Canon Powershot G7X comes with a 4.2× optical zoom lens that has 11 elements, including 3 aspherical and a UD-glass element to reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations in images. The lens offers a focal length range of 24–100mm and operates with a maximum aperture of f/1.8. The nine-blade diaphragm provides a rounded bokeh effect on the background of photos. To facilitate handheld shooting, the camera has an Optical Image Stabilizer that reduces camera shakes, and an Intelligent IS system that notifies which stabilizing option is appropriate for the given shooting condition. The camera captures fast-moving images with a maximum shutter speed of 1/2000th of a second and provides sufficient brightness in images with its maximum ISO sensitivity of 12800.

Sensor and Screen

This Canon camera has a 20.2 MP CMOS sensor and DIGIC 6 image processor to provide high-quality images and videos. Both the sensor and processor come together for the Canon HS system that provides efficient performance even in low light. The camera has a 3-inch touchscreen LCD that gives a 100% coverage of the scene and can be rotated as per convenience. The resolution of the LCD stands at 1.04 million dots.

Image and Video

The Canon Powershot G7X camera clicks 12-bit images at a maximum resolution of 5472×3648 dpi in JPEG and RAW formats. It can also record 1080p videos at 60 fps. On the continuous shooting mode, the camera operates at a rate of 6.5 fps.

Other Features

The Canon Powershot G7X camera comes with built-in Wi-Fi that lets you transfer photos and videos to your mobile phone, tablet, or computer. It includes the image-sync function that automatically syncs images with a detected device on a designated network. A control ring is provided on the camera for tweaking its functions and controls. In addition, you may use the rear dial to access the recently or frequently used functions. An NB-13L rechargeable Li-ion battery powers this camera.
