Sleek in design, intuitive in interface, and loaded with features, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100 Digital Camera - Black is a versatile point-and-shoot camera that photographers and videographers who travel often can use. It comes with a 20.1 MP, 1-inch, high-sensitivity MOS sensor, which works with a Venus Engine image processor to deliver clear and clean images with less noise. The optics of the Leica DC Vario-Elmarit 10× zoom lens, which provides a 25–250mm-equivalent focal length and an f/2.8–5.9 aperture, is made of 12 elements in 10 groups, along with 5 aspherical lenses. The 5-axis, hybrid, optical image-stabilization function enables you to shoot blur-free photos and footage. The Post Focus function teams up with the Light Speed AF and the intelligent Depth from Defocus technology in order to capture imagery in the form of a 4K MP4 file at 30 fps. Use the inbuilt WiFi facility for transferring data to devices and operating the camera remotely via the Panasonic Image app.

Optics and Focus

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100 comes with the Leica DC Vario-Elmarit 10× zoom lens that provides an aperture of f/2.8–5.9 and an equivalent focal length of 25–250mm. The optics of the lens are made of 12 elements in 10 groups, as well as 5 aspherical lenses. The shutter speed ranges from 1 second to 1/16,000th of a second, while the ISO sensitivity ranges from 80 to 25,600. The Post Focus function works in tandem with the intelligent Depth from Defocus technology and the Light Speed AF for capturing imagery as a 4K MP4 file at 30 fps. The 5-axis, hybrid, optical image-stabilization function makes it easy to shoot blur-free photos and videos. The exposure and white-balance modes assist you in a wide range of photography scenarios.

Sensor and Screen

The 20.1 MP, 1-inch, high-sensitivity MOS sensor in this point-and-shoot camera lets you capture high-quality photos with minimal noise. Further, the 3-inch, rear, LCD touchscreen offers an impressive 1,040 k-dot resolution for viewing the captured content and accessing menus with immense clarity. The 1,166 k-dot live electronic viewfinder makes it easy to capture images and videos, even under ambient lighting conditions, where it is practically not feasible to use the touchscreen.

Image and Video

The DMC-ZS100 not only shoots JPEG and RAW stills at its highest resolution of 5472×3648 pixels, but also records 4K videos at a 3840×2160 resolution at 30p in the AVCHD Version 2.0 and MP4 formats. You may record videos of close to 30 minutes with this camera. For using the wide-panorama function, you need to pan the camera horizontally through the scene so as to capture a broad field of view. The Venus Engine image processor helps in rendering imagery with a blend of speed and quality. You may also shoot pictures in a continuous manner at a maximum rate of 50 fps.

Other Features

The Lumix DMC-ZS100 camera from Panasonic comes with built-in WiFi that helps transfer photos and movies wirelessly to other devices. Also, this facility lets you remotely operate the camera through the downloadable Panasonic Image app. Use the camera’s numerous creative-control, photo-style, and still-image scene-guide modes, as well as the picture-adjustment settings for enhancing the look of your photos. This camera runs on a 1,025 mAh 7.2 V DC rechargeable Lithium-ion battery pack.
