Revive the charm of analog film photography with the Leica R4 SLR Camera. This camera accepts Lecia R bayonet lenses. If you wish to experiment with different settings, you have the Aperture and Shutter Priority, Program, and Manual Metering modes. This camera can take clear shots by increasing its focal plane shutter speed up to 1/1000th of a second. The ISO range of the camera can be adjusted between 12 and 3200. A hot shoe contact is provided at the top to mount an external flash unit that can be synchronized with the shutter at 1/100th of a second. This camera includes other features such as battery check, DOF button, self-timer, and multi-exposure function.
Optics and Focus
The Leica R4 SLR camera comes with 4 exposure modes, which include Shutter and Aperture Priority as well as Program and Manual. In the Program mode, both shutter and aperture are adjusted to create an appropriate exposure setting for the scene. A maximum shutter speed of 1/1000th of a second allows you to capture a clear reproduction of a moving object. This camera has a split image rangefinder to assist you during the focusing operation. The R4 features an electronically timed shutter consisting of vertical-traveling metal blades. This camera offers shutter speeds from 1 to 1/1000 seconds, which can be varied in Aperture-Priority and Program modes and in one-stop increments in Shutter-Priority and Manual modes.
Screen and Sensor
The camera's eye-level viewfinder has indicators to show the current exposure mode, shutter speed, pre-selected aperture, and overexposure warning. You can replace the focusing screen with other compatible screens in the market.
Image and Video
The camera has a manual film winding lever for advancing to the next frame. You can also attach an optional motor drive to the camera to capture continuous shots at 2 or 4 fps.
Other Features
The camera features a hot shoe to enable mounting of an external flash unit, which eventually translates into enhanced functionality. The connected flash can be synchronized to up to 1/100th of a second. Pressing the DOF Preview button on the camera gives you a glimpse of the final image on the basis of the current exposure and focus settings. The camera's self-timer function is activated by rotating the timer knob at 30° in the clockwise direction. The front blinking LED indicates shutter release. You can stop the self-timer by turning the knob back to its initial position. This camera runs on two SR44 silver oxide button cells or a single 3V CR1/3N lithium battery.
