Lightweight, yet rugged, the Tascam DR-701D 6-Track Field Recorder for DSLR with SMPTE Timecode is an essential portable gadget for professional video productions. It is equipped with dual inbuilt omnidirectional microphones and four XLR/TRS inputs with a stereo mixer for recording up to six tracks at a time. Use the HDMI input and output ports for allowing your camera and the internal clock to be digitally synchronized. The Cascade function makes it possible to connect multiple units via the HDMI port for simultaneously starting and stopping a recording. The BNC timecode input either follows a source signal or is jam-synced at least a few times a day to perform an independent freewheel operation. You can store time data in your recorded audio files by using the SMPTE timecode. The magnesium-alloy chassis makes the Tascam DR-701D durable.
