The Konica FS-1 SLR Camera was the first 35mm SLR to have a built-in motor drive. You receive the standard 40mm f/1.8 lens along with this camera. This camera also works with other Konica mount 11 lenses. The camera has a TTL full aperture metering and shutter-speed priority aperture control system. This SLR offers maximum ISO range of 3200. You can increase the shutter speed up to 1/1000th of a second to take pictures of moving objects. The camera has a pentaprism eye-level viewfinder that offers 90% screen coverage and 0.67× magnification at infinity with the standard 40mm lens. There are LED indicators in the viewfinder, which show the current aperture and exposure correction.

Optics and Focus

This camera has a Konica Hexanon AR 40mm f/1.8 lens provided with it. The lens construction includes 6 elements in 5 groups. You can manually focus the lens to take pictures of an object from a minimum distance of 0.45 m. The camera uses shutter priority for automatic exposure metering where it varies the aperture opening according to the set shutter speed. The camera comes with a maximum ISO limit of 3200 that makes easy to shoot in low-light conditions. You can click clear photos of moving objects by increasing the shutter speed up to 1/1000th of a second.

Sensor and Screen

The camera has a pentaprism eye-level viewfinder incorporated in its design, which offers 90% screen coverage and 0.67× magnification of the image. You can see the over and under exposure markings as well as aperture level in the viewfinder. A split-image surrounded by a microdiaprism is provided at the center of the viewfinder for aiding the focusing work.

Image and video

The Konica FS-1 SLR camera takes photographs on 35mm films. This SLR camera embodies the Konica Autoload system that winds the film automatically until the frame number comes to ""1"". You can remove the film slack in the cassette by slowly turning the rewind crank at 360°.

Other Features

The camera has a hot shoe that allows you to connect an external flash unit such as the X-24. You can use the X-contact for using FP and MF flashbulbs. It synchronizes the electronic flash units to the shutter at 1/60th of a second and flashbulbs at 1/30th of a second. A socket is provided beneath the camera, which can be used for mounting the Konica FS-1 on a tripod. The self-timer lets you delay the shutter release up to 10 seconds. With the DOF preview button, you can adjust the depth of field in the image. The camera runs on four 1.5V AA alkali manganese cells.
