Overview

The Sony E 16-55mm f/2.8 G Lens is designed for APS-C-format Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, & features a bright constant f/2.8 maximum aperture. The lens has a focal length range of 24-82.5mm equivalent, & its optical design enables its ability to work in a variety of lighting conditions, throughout the zoom, & provides greater control over depth of field.

The lens features four aspherical elements, including two advanced aspherical, to help reduce distortion & spherical aberrations, & for accurate rendering with high sharpness. Three extra-low dispersion elements are also included, to reduce color fringing & chromatic aberrations for improved color accuracy & overall clarity. A nano AR coating has been included to minimize surface reflections, flare, & ghosting. A rounded nine-blade diaphragm provides the ability to experience a pleasing bokeh quality when using selective focus techniques.

The lens includes an XD Linear Motor system, for quick, quiet, & precise AF performance, while contributing to more natural manual focus control. It includes an AF/MF switch, located on the lens barrel, for user-friendly control over the setting. Customizable focus hold buttons are also included on the lens barrel for quick & easy access of your top settings.

The physical construction of the lens features a dust & moisture-sealed design, & is fluorine-coated to resist dust, moisture, & fingerprints.
