OVERVIEW

Designed for cinema, broadcast, music, and field recording, the Saramonic SG-MS1 is an ultracompact mid-side stereo shotgun microphone. Dual cardioid and figure-8 capsules combine to deliver an authentic, customizable stereo field. Weighing a mere 3.17 oz and measuring 6.9 inches, its lightweight design excels on boom poles or camera rigs without creeping into tight lens frames.

Versatile Connection Options

Equipped with a 5-pin XLR output (paired with a dual 3-pin XLR splitter), the mic interfaces seamlessly with pro recorders and mixers for real-time or post-production width control. USB-C connectivity links directly to mobile devices, enabling app-based stereo adjustments while converting the 3.5mm jack into a zero-latency headphone monitor. A standard 3.5mm analog output is also included for DSLRs and handheld recorders.

Three Adaptable Shooting Modes

An integrated mode dial easily tailors signal routing. Raw M-S records unprocessed capsule data for maximum mix flexibility. M/S Mono splits the capsule signals across the XLR leads—routing the cardioid track for isolated dialogue and the figure-8 track for dual-subject interviews. Decoded L/R internally converts the matrix into immediate, standard left/right stereo channels.

Flexible Rigging & Accessory Package

A premium Rycote Lyre shockmount dampens handling noise and attaches via cold shoe or standard 5/8", 3/8", and 1/4"-20 threads. The all-in-one kit includes foam and furry windscreens, a 5-pin to dual XLR cable, USB-C and Lightning cables, 3.5mm TRS and TRRS adapters, mount hardware, and a durable hard case.
