Overview

The Panasonic Lumix DC-GX9M Mirrorless Digital Camera offers 4K HD video recording as well as HD image capture. This camera works with Micro Four Thirds mount lenses. The camera uses the 20.3 MP Digital Live MOS sensor and Venus Engine image processor to provide high-quality results even in low light. Along with 4K videos, the camera also offers 4K 8 MP burst shooting at 30 fps. This mirrorless camera comes with the DFD AF technology and dual image stabilization 2.0 to give your videos and still images a professionals edge. Send images to smart devices such as mobiles and tablets by using the built-in Wi-Fi. Also, you can turn-on the Bluetooth 4.2 BLE to operate the camera remotely. With the front and rear dials, the aperture and shutter speed settings can be adjusted manually.

Optics and Focus

The camera offers compatibility to Micro Four Thirds mount lenses. It employs the Depth-From-Defocus technology to make the camera precisely determine the focusing distance to the subject. The AF system includes 49 contrast-detection points that benefit both image capture and video recording. When working in dim light, the Starlight AF function ensures accurate AF performance down to -4 EV. The Dual Image Stabilization 2.0 teams-up the camera's sensor-shift image stabilization technology to the optical image stabilization of the lens. The mechanical and electronic shutter options are provided in the camera, which offers a maximum speed limit of 1/4000th and 1/16000th of a second respectively.

Sensor AND Screen

The Panasonic Lumix camera is fitted with the 20.3 MP Digital Live MOS sensor that provides a wide dynamic range to capture clear images in various lighting conditions. The 3.0-inch touchscreen LCD gives 1.04m-dot resolution view of the scene. Moreover, the LCD can be tilted for using the camera from a high or low angle. Alternatively, you can use the OLED electronic viewfinder that has 2.76m-dot resolution and 0.7× magnification. The EVF can be tilted upwards to use the camera from waist level. The LCD screen and OLED viewfinder provide 100% frame coverage.

Image and Video

This Panasonic camera can record UHD 4K videos at 60 fps and 1080p videos at 60 fps. It can also capture still images in JPEG and RAW format with a maximum resolution of 5184×3888 dpi. The camera comes with three 4K burst modes namely, Burst, Pre-burst, and Burst (S/S). Thanks to the in-camera RAW image processing, you post-production workflow gets simplified. The camera contains various picture style modes such as Monochrome and Scenery, along with picture control modes such as Sepia, Bleach Bypass, and Sunshine to make you give a unique look to the captured photos or videos.

Other Features

The Panasonic camera can be controlled remotely by pairing your smartphone to it via the Bluetooth 4.2. Additionally, the Wi-Fi connectivity allows you to send images to your smartphone. The camera has a built-in flash with a guide number of 4.2 m at ISO 100. You can also attach an external TTL flash to the hot shoe contact. On a fully-charged 1025 mAh Li-ion battery, the camera offers 260 and 250 still images with rear LCD and electronic viewfinder respectively.
