The Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 8-18mm f/2.8-4 ASPH Lens is made for outdoor photoshoots that involve taking creative nature and landscape still and videos. This wide-angle lens is to be used with Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras. The optics of the lens involves 15 elements in 10 groups. One aspherical extra-low-dispersion, three aspherical, two extra-low-dispersion, and one ultra-high refractive index elements reduce chromatic aberrations, color fringing, and spherical aberrations. Panasonic’s nano coating on the surface of the lens minimizes flares and ghosting. The maximum aperture of f/2.8 provides good depth of field in images. Moreover, the seven-bladed diaphragm creates smooth and rounded bokeh in the background of photos. The 240 fps AF drives ensures fast and precise focus for capturing stills and recording 4K videos. This Panasonic lens is made of a durable metal that is resistant to splashes, dust, and temperature as low as -10° C.
