Condition: Good

The Nikon F Photomic SLR Camera is an upgrade to its predecessor, which comes with an external metered finder. This SLR camera can work with Nikon F-mount lenses. The CdS average -weighted exposure metering offers a working range of EV2 to EV17 at ASA 100. You can speed-up the shutter of the camera to a maximum limit of 1/1000th of a second. The reception angle of the Photomic viewfinder can be adjusted from 18° to 70°. This SLR has an automatic instant-type return mirror with a lock-up facility. The mounted electronic flash units can be synchronized at 1/60th of a second and flashbulbs at all shutter speeds. You have to use a single PX-625 1.3 V cell in the Photomic head to power the exposure metering.

Optics and Focus

This Nikon SLR can fit most Nikon F-mount lenses. The Nikon F Photomic uses the average-weighted CdS-cell exposure metering to give a working range of EV2 to EV17 at a film speed of ASA 100. You can adjust the film speed from ASA 10 to 1600. The shutter speed can be adjusted to a maximum limit of 1/1000th of a second for capturing pictures of moving objects.

Sensor and Screen

The Photomic finder allows you to change the reception angle between 18° and 72°. With the mirror lock function, the camera reduces the image blur caused during manual exposure metering.

Image and Video

The camera takes photos on 35mm film negatives. You have to use the single-stroke lever to advance the film after each shot. The lever has a 150° winding angle and 30° stand-off angle. You can create multi-exposure effects by overlaying different shots over a single frame.

Other Features

The camera can synchronize an electronic flash unit at 1/60th of a second. You can also connect a flashbulb to the camera, which offers synchronization with the shutter at all speeds. The camera shows the number of frames remaining in the film roll with the self-additive frame counter. When you open the camera back, the frame counter resets to the "S" position. The Nikon F Photomic has a self-timer that can delay the shutter release from approximately 3 to 10 seconds. View the depth of field in the image with the DOF preview lever. A single PX-625 1.3V mercury cell is required for powering the camera's exposure metering.
