It seems that all of our cherished camera and lens makers are making videos about their manufacturing process these days. Sigma is certainly no exception, but they take it a step further with their exploration of the natural world that surrounds them in Aizu, Fukushima Prefecture in Japan. A light piano tune accompanies various scenes of waterfalls, ants, and dewdrops intertwined with glimpses of Sigma's lens making process. While we can type "lens making" into Google any time we want, and the Sigma video doesn't divulge any groundbreaking secrets about their manufacturing process, the video leaves me feeling all warm and fuzzy. It's poetic, well-assembled (no pun), and extremely well shot.
Either way, the sincerity is what makes this Sigma video a winner.
