Last week New York State was hit by a massive snowstorm. Some places were really badly hit and were several feet under the snow. Derek Gee, a correspondent with The Buffalo News, had the opportunity to fly in a chopper with the governor of Buffalo city and bring us pictures of the scene there.

These photographs from an aerial view depict houses buried in the snow – looking like igloos, cars and trucks stuck on the roads waiting to be rescued, people trying to dig a way out from their houses and Ralph Wilson stadium under a cover of snow.
According to Derek, the sheer volume of snow made it impossible to visit these areas. Earlier, a few other reporters hired trained snowmobile drivers to reach the hardest hit areas. But it didn't help much. The first signs of a clement weather on Thursday last week made it possible to fly and survey the place from above.

In the next couple of days in West Seneca, people are expecting about 2-3 feet of more snow. Also, this will bring a lot of secondary issues like roof collapses, power failures and heat supply deficit. And the double whammy: once the sun is out and snow starts melting, the whole area will be flooded. It seems there is no end to the troubles of the residents of West Seneca this winter.
