NIKON EN-EL15 RECHARGEABLE LITHIUM-ION BATTERY PACK FOR NIKON’S DIGITAL SLR D800 and D7000
Nikon Inc. is voluntarily recalling certain EN-EL15 rechargeable lithium-ion battery packs because they can experience a short circuit causing it to overheat and possibly melt, posing a potential burn hazard to consumers.
Only EN-EL15 battery packs from lots E and F are affected by this recall program. To determine whether a battery is in lots E or F, locate the 14 digit lot number beside the recycle symbol as show on the photo above and if the 9th character is E or F, the battery pack is being recalled.
If you have an EN-EL15 battery pack in lots E or F, please stop using it immediately, remove the battery pack from the camera and arrange for a free replacement by contacting Nikon Inc. at: www.nikonusa.com or 800-645-6687 MONDAY - FRIDAY 8 A.M. – 12 MIDNIGHT ET
