NJ Photographer Arrested in Kansas for...Illegal Paragliding.

We're not in New Jersey anymore Toto...Freelance photographer George Steinmetz of Glen Ridge NJ was recently arrested while photographing an assignment in Kansas for National Geographic. Finney County authorities arrested the photographer and his aerial instructor while they were flying around in a paraglider attempting to take pictures of a feedlot near Garden City, Kansas. Sounds like some intense James Bond stuff...

Authorities claim they broke the law by launching the paraglider from private property without telling authorities that they  would be taking pictures. Official charges: Misdemeanor Criminal Trespass...free after paying a $270 bond. National Geographic released a statement that they felt the photographer did not break the law. Could it be that these feedlots have reason to be weary of paragliding photographers or is this just another case of the fuzz having nothing better to do?
