Why do we feel the need to torture cameras in the name of science? Just a quick search and you'll find that Youtube is filled with videos that stretch the idea of a stress test...they're more like snuff films. Well, here's one guy from a french blog called Pixelistes who decided to put a Nikon D3s up to the most ridiculously extreme parameters: A list of worst case scenarios that could happen to your camera. These tests include bathing with it, dropping it in mud, dropping it again on muddy concrete, letting it fall off of a moving car, submerging it in water, freezing it, and ultimately setting it aflame like Jimmy Hendrix.
Spoiler alert, the camera makes it out alive...somehow. Despite the horrors it's been through, the rugged D300 never stops clicking away. That poor camera must be physically scared for life however. Warning: watching the entirety of this video may cause you to cuss real loud over and over again. Also you'll probably want to hug your camera and tell it that you would never put it through such trials. They aren't all built to last like this, so please don' t try this at home. I shouldn't even have to say that. I'm going to have nightmares from the music alone.
