What kind of feeling does one get looking at old black and white photographs? No doubt, they have a secret appeal that asks to be addressed somehow, a kind of appropriation. Some of us want to color those pictures, just for the fun of it, to see the past in digital colors. Just imagine the sweet surprise of finding Monet standing next to his impressionistic canvasses, in his grey-brown suit, featuring a flowing white beard. But words won’t do. Here’s what we mean:
