Hasselblad Space Camera

Space, the final frontier...even for film. These NASA-modified Hasselblads have been periodically popping up on Ebay...most likely because they can't hook in the casual enthusiast with a price range of $31,250.00-$51,300.00...the film magazine alone can cost you up to $1,695.00. Yikes. Included in the kit is a Hasseblad MKWE camera with CF Biogon T* 38mm f/4.5 and a A24 film back. What makes this camera so special? Besides it being Lamborghini yellow, there were only 20 units made.

The instructional booklet shows how to take selfies in space.

Although this particular camera hasn't been launched into the great unknown, it certainly does have a spacey feel with it's bold styling. Prior to the digital switch, Hasselblad had a long history of modifying cameras that would accompany some of the first astronauts. Although they've since kept up with technology by switching exclusively to Nikon D3s', it's still a prestigious decoration to be the first cameras in space (queue dramatic echo effect).   Click here to read more about their space-certified film cameras.
