More sad news for analog fans...Hasselblad has announced the "end of the line" for their 503CW cameras. After this discontinuation, the 503CW will be the last in a long breed of V System Hassies. First introduced in 1957, the original 500c became popular due to it's compact design, fast Zeiss lenses and 6x6 format. It remained in production up until 1970, receiving modest updates throughout it's lifespan and has become pretty iconic as far as medium format cameras go. A statement from their press release explains that "there has been a substantial decline in demand for this camera over the past five years or so and the time has now come for us to reluctantly consign the V System to history. In so doing we would like to thank all fans and customers for both their loyalty and their enthusiasm for our legacy Hasselblad V System.” Although they will continue to sell accessories while they're still in stock, the last 503CW has already come off the production line. In it's wake Hasselblad will in stead focus all their efforts into their H System and most likely continue the trend of strange "advanced enthusiast" cameras like the Hasselblad Lunar...good luck with that. As for a camera that actually went to the moon: R.I.P.
