Melissa’s strong stance on ethics in wildlife photography has led her on a journey covered in a feature story in Rolling Stone magazine last year: "The Ugly Truth About the Wild Animals of Instagram".

Melissa’s photographs and articles have been published in numerous magazines including SmithsonianAudubonOutdoor PhotographerNational Wildlife, National Geographic (online), Living Bird, and Natural History. She travels frequently as an assignment photographer for Audubon and Smithsonian magazines, and to lead tours for Summit Photography Workshops.
