Why is my Nikon D750 viewfinder focus wrong after reinstalling the focusing screen?

I removed the focusing screen from my Nikon D750 for cleaning and reinstalled it. After that, the viewfinder focus looked wrong: subjects that should be in focus appeared blurry, while out-of-focus subjects looked clear. However, the actual photos were focused correctly. What would cause the viewfinder to show focus incorrectly after reinstalling the focusing screen?

Solved. I accidentally placed the focusing screen by flipping it on other side which made in focus objects blurry. I corrected it and it's back to normal now.

The most likely cause is that the focusing screen was reinstalled the wrong way around. In a DSLR, the focusing screen determines how the image appears in the optical viewfinder, but it does not affect the actual image recorded by the sensor. If the screen is flipped or not seated correctly, the viewfinder can show focus inaccurately even though the camera captures a properly focused photo. Reinstall the screen in the correct orientation and make sure it is seated properly; that should restore normal viewfinder focus.
