Why is my Nikon D7200 delaying about a second before firing a flash trigger?

I’m using a Nikon D7200 with a Yongnuo YN-622N-TX transmitter and YN-622N II receivers to trigger a studio flash. With this setup, the camera seems to wait about one second before the flash fires. My Nikon D7100 with the same trigger setup fires immediately. Is this normal for the D7200, or is there a camera setting that could be causing the delay?

The question is, is the shutter activation delayed too, or only the flash pop? I assume probably both.
It could be a few things in the camera.
Probably most likely, if you have the Red Eye Reduction sync option on, that flashes the cameras front white light for about one second before the shutter and flash are triggered. Turn that off. See manual index for Red Eye.
Self timer could of course do it.
If you have the Exposure Delay on (menu D4 in D7200), it adds a delay before the shutter.
The ML-L3 remote shutter has delay options.
Rear Curtain Sync could do it if using a long (one second) shutter.

This is not likely to be normal behavior from the D7200 or the Yongnuo trigger itself. A one-second delay usually points to a camera setting that intentionally delays shutter release/flash timing.
Check these on the D7200:
- red-eye reduction flash mode: this adds a pre-flash/light delay before the exposure
- self-timer: adds a countdown before firing
- exposure delay mode (Custom Setting d4): intentionally delays the shutter after you press the button
- remote release delay options if using an ML-L3 remote
- rear-curtain sync: if your shutter speed is around 1 second, the flash fires at the end of the exposure, which feels like a delay
A good test is to see whether the shutter itself is delayed, or only the flash pop. If both are delayed, it’s almost certainly one of the camera settings above. Since your D7100 works instantly with the same triggers, the D7200’s settings are the first thing to check.
