Why is my Epson P600 printing horizontal grey lines even after cleaning and alignment?

My Epson SureColor P600 is adding unwanted horizontal grey lines across prints. I’ve already tried repeated head cleanings, multiple print-head alignments, new cartridges, manual cleaning, and printing from different programs, but the lines persist. The nozzle/check test otherwise looks normal. What could cause horizontal grey banding like this when the nozzles don’t appear clogged or misaligned?

This is not an answer, just some comments.
The head is not clogged with ink. This would produce white lines or lines without one color, so there is not a "cleaning" problem.
The colors are not misaligned. So no need to do that either.
The problem is that the printer is shooting black ink (or a combination of colors) and, that is probably because of a faulty head.
If your printer has the heads on the cartridge themselves try replacing them. Use a magnifying glass to see the composition of the lines. If it is black alone or has dots of different colors.
I would recommend that you use your guarantee and take it to a service or repair shop.

If the nozzle check looks normal, this is likely not a clog or alignment issue. Clogged nozzles usually cause missing color or white gaps, not extra grey lines being added across the print.
Based on the symptoms, the most likely causes are:
- ink leaking or smearing from a black/grey ink channel or cartridge area
- excess ink on the carriage or around the print head path
- saturated waste/blotter pads under the head that are transferring ink back onto the paper
- possibly a faulty print head firing ink when it shouldn’t
What to check:
- Inspect the black and grey cartridge/head area for any ink leakage.
- Clean any visible ink buildup on the carriage and along the print path.
- Blot excess ink from any absorbent pads/blotters under the print head if accessible.
- Look closely at the grey lines with magnification to see whether they are black ink or a mix of colors.
If cleaning stray ink and checking for leaks doesn’t solve it, the print head may be defective and the printer likely needs professional service or warranty repair.
