My Canon Rebel T5 suddenly started recording every photo with a pink-to-black gradient. I removed the lens and confirmed the shutter actuates, and the problem happens with every lens I own. In Live View, the image goes from completely white to pink to black and then stays black.

I reset the camera settings, formatted two different SD cards, and tested across different ISO, shutter speed, and aperture settings, but every photo looks the same.

One odd detail: if I remove the battery and SD card and leave the camera unused for more than 24 hours, the first photo afterward is normal, but all following shots return to the pink/black result.

The camera is out of warranty. What could cause this, and is there anything worth trying before repair?

Used Canon EOS Utility to open live view and left it in live view for 1 hour and the camera eventually returned to normal. This was after resetting camera settings and updating the firmware. With a blank formatted SD card. It appears to have been just a bug.
