Why does part of my photo have a bright/dark band on a Fujifilm X-T100?

My Fujifilm X-T100 sometimes produces images with a clear exposure band, where one part of the frame is brighter or darker than the rest. It has been happening for the last few months, but not on every shot.
I tested with different settings and lighting:
- 1/100s, f/4, ISO 200 with LED backlight
- 1/60s, f/8, ISO 2500 in natural light
- 1/100s, f/16, ISO 200 in natural light
Changing shutter speed does not seem to fix it. Could this be an image processor problem, or is it more likely a mechanical issue?

It appears your first shutter curtain is dragging the last one-third of the frame or so when opening. This causes the interval between the first and second curtain to be shorter for that part of the sensor than for the rest of the sensor.

This is much more likely to be a shutter problem than an image processor issue. The reported symptom matches a dragging or uneven first shutter curtain: part of the frame is exposed for slightly less time, creating a bright/dark band.
Because it happens in different lighting and exposure settings, and changing shutter speed hasn’t solved it, the mechanical shutter is the main suspect. In practical terms, one shutter curtain may not be moving consistently across the sensor.
The usual remedy is camera service/repair. As a quick check, try comparing mechanical shutter vs. any electronic shutter mode your camera offers; if the banding only appears with the mechanical shutter, that further points to the shutter mechanism.
