Why can I change flash power only in TTL and zoom only in Manual with a Phottix Odin II and LumoPro LP180R?

I’m using a Phottix Odin II transmitter with a LumoPro LP180R flash. Right now, I can only adjust the flash power from the Odin when the LP180R is set to TTL. But in TTL mode I can’t adjust the zoom from the Odin. If I switch the LP180R to Manual, I can change zoom but not power. Is this expected behavior, or is there a setup or firmware issue I’m missing?

It could be that your LumoPro LP180R is on an older firmware version that doesn't know about the Odin II transmitter (the LP180R came out before the Odin IIs did). The current firmware version with full Odin II compatibility is v1.14.
Alternatively, if you can return the LumoPro, you could get a Phottix Juno or Juno TTL flash instead. The Juno models have the advantage of being firmware upgradeable to Phottix's new Odin Z system.
Also, if you didn't need the TTL signalling of the Odin II transmitter (which, if you got an LP180R and not a Mitros+ or Juno TTL, you weren't planning on using, anyway), there is now also the Odin Lite transmitter.

This is likely a compatibility/firmware issue, not normal operation you’re “missing.” The LP180R was released before the Odin II, so older LP180R firmware may not fully support the Odin II’s control scheme. According to the community answer, full Odin II compatibility requires LP180R firmware v1.14.
So the first thing to check is the flash firmware version and update it if possible. An older firmware could explain why remote power control and remote zoom control seem tied to different flash modes.
If updating isn’t possible or doesn’t solve it, the answer suggests considering a different Phottix-compatible flash such as a Juno or Juno TTL, which also has the benefit of firmware upgradability for newer Phottix systems. If you don’t need TTL features at all, the Odin Lite transmitter may also be a better fit.
In short: check the LP180R firmware first; v1.14 is the key version mentioned for proper Odin II support.
