I'm looking for a remote or cable shutter release for the Fujifilm X100S. Does the Fujifilm RR-80 or RR-90 work with this camera, or is there another compatible option?

It sounds like your options are limited with the X100S.

For example, this post suggests that the X100S is not RR-80 compatible, and that your only option is a mechanical cable release.

There is some speculation on the web about X100S having the ability to release the shutter through a mic input.

This user seems to believe that the RR-90 Remote Release does not have the correct USB size for the X100S, but has suggested an adapter for that USB port may work.

To be safe, I would purchase a mechanical shutter release. Something like this.

The safest answer from the available information is: use a mechanical cable release.

Community reports suggest the X100S is not compatible with the RR-80, and the RR-90 appears to use a different USB connector than the X100S. Some people have speculated about using the mic/USB input with adapters, but that does not sound like a confirmed, reliable solution.

If you want a shutter release that is known to work without guesswork, a standard mechanical threaded cable release for the shutter button is the best option.
