Which adapter lets Chinon CM-5 lenses fit a Canon EOS 1100D?

I have a Canon EOS 1100D and want to try some older manual-focus lenses that were used on a Chinon CM-5 film camera. One is a Tamron lens that appears to use the same mount as the Chinon lenses. What lens mount does the Chinon CM-5 use, and what adapter would I need to mount those lenses on my Canon EOS body?

The Chinon CM-5 uses a Pentax K mount and there are adapters available for about $15 to mount these lenses on your Canon 1100D.

Generated from our catalog & community — verify before relying on it.
The Chinon CM-5 is generally identified as using a Pentax K mount, so the adapter you’d usually want is a Pentax K to Canon EOS adapter for your 1100D.
One community note mentions that some Chinon models may exist with either Pentax K (bayonet) or M42 (screw) mounts, so it’s worth checking your specific lens mount before buying. If the lens twists on with a bayonet fitting, it’s likely Pentax K; if it screws in, it’s likely M42.
So:
- Pentax K lens: get a Pentax K to Canon EOS adapter
- M42 lens: get an M42 to Canon EOS adapter
These older lenses will usually be manual focus and manual aperture on your EOS 1100D.
