I remember Lightroom color profiles being in a different place. I thought they used to be near or inside the Basic panel. In current versions, where do I find them, and did Adobe move them from Camera Calibration to Basic at some point?

Yes. In older Lightroom versions, profiles were found in the Camera Calibration panel. Starting with Lightroom Classic v7.3 (released in April 2018), Adobe moved the Profile chooser to the Basic panel. So if you’re using an older version such as Lightroom 5, look in Camera Calibration; in newer Lightroom Classic versions, look in Basic.
