I'm looking for reliable websites to research digital cameras before buying. Useful resources could include in-depth reviews, technical specifications, side-by-side comparisons, sample images, and user feedback on camera or lens performance. Which sites are most helpful for comparing models and learning about their strengths and weaknesses?

dpreview.com is really the place to start in my opinion. They have tested digital cameras for quite a few years, and they have a sort of standardized test method so that you can compare reviews of different camera in a meaningful way. They also include side-by-side image samples for predecessors and competing models, which I find very valuable.

A good starting point is DPReview. It’s widely known for detailed digital camera reviews, fairly consistent testing methods, and useful side-by-side sample image comparisons between competing or older models.
For quick spec-based comparisons, SnapSort can be handy. It’s useful when you want a fast overview of feature differences between cameras.
If you want owner opinions in addition to formal reviews, Fred Miranda is another option. Its user reviews and average scores can be helpful, especially for Canon and Nikon gear, though its coverage is more limited than broad review sites.
In short: use DPReview for deep reviews and sample images, SnapSort for fast feature comparisons, and Fred Miranda for community feedback.
