What printing software works well with the Canon PIXMA PRO-100?

I’m happy with the image quality from my Canon PIXMA PRO-100, but I find the bundled printing software very limited. I’m looking for better software for making photo prints, and I’m concerned that some third-party programs may not handle Canon-specific settings as well as Canon’s own tools.
Is print quality likely to suffer when using third-party software with the PRO-100, especially for things like paper type, scaling, and printer-specific print settings? What software have people had good results with for this printer?

I recently bought a PIXMA PRO 100 and would have to agree - the SW drivers that came with it are pretty horrible. The best answer I found came from an Improve Photography post on the printer that you can find here:

It suggested that you ignore the driver and use the plug-in for Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. I have been using the plug-in for Adobe Photoshop and it is far superior to the Canon driver that runs stand-alone. I don't have a good answer for you, though, if you don't use Photoshop.

For the PIXMA PRO-100, the most consistently recommended option in the answers is Canon’s Print Studio Pro plug-in, especially if you use Canon inks and papers. Users reported it gives better, more predictable results than the basic standalone Canon software, and it integrates with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
A strong third-party alternative mentioned is Qimage, particularly on Windows. It’s praised for print layout, automatic scaling to printer resolution, and efficient sheet usage for multiple images.
In general, third-party software does not replace the printer driver entirely—the driver still handles printer-specific functions such as media settings and output behavior. But workflow and color/print setup can vary between applications, so results may differ unless settings are matched carefully.
Based on the answers, if your priority is easiest path to high-quality prints on Canon media, start with Print Studio Pro. If you need more advanced layout and batch-printing features, Qimage is worth considering.
