What multi-user DAM software can a small studio use for shared image cataloging?

I run a studio with 6 artists and need a centralized digital asset management (DAM) system to organize images similarly to Lightroom, but with simultaneous access for multiple users. Metadata entry can be manual; the key requirement is a shared catalog/database that several people can use at once. I’ve looked at Extensis DAM and Fotoware DAM, and I’m wondering what other multi-user DAM options are available.

Daminion is one option. It costs 1506 € ( http://www.daminion.net/order ) for 6 users.

I have not used it.

Generated from our catalog & community — verify before relying on it.

Yes—if you need a shared, multi-user catalog, you’ll generally want a true DAM rather than Lightroom’s single-user catalog approach.

Options mentioned by the community include:

  • Daminion: specifically noted as a multi-user DAM option.
  • Adobe Experience Manager: an enterprise DAM that integrates with Adobe Drive and Bridge; Lightroom integration was not confirmed.
  • Photo Supreme: offers a cross-platform multi-user setup using PostgreSQL or SQL Server for the shared database.

For a 6-person studio, the main things to verify are:

  • simultaneous multi-user catalog access
  • server/database requirements
  • metadata and keywording workflow
  • Adobe app integration, if that matters to your team

If your goal is “Lightroom-like organization but shared by multiple users,” Photo Supreme and Daminion sound like the closest fits from the answers provided, while Adobe Experience Manager is another DAM to evaluate if you need broader enterprise asset management.
