What Lightroom-like photo workflow software is available for Linux?

I'm looking for Linux software that combines two things reasonably well: organizing large photo libraries and editing RAW/JPEG files in one workflow, similar to Adobe Lightroom. I've tried tools like digiKam, Photivo, Shotwell, F-Spot, and Picasa, but they seem stronger either at editing or at cataloging rather than both. What Linux options offer the best balance of photo management and non-destructive editing?

As far as I know, the best bet for Linux is Darktable. Workflow management with raw and JPEG editing all in one.

Yes. Based on the answers, the two main Lightroom-like options on Linux are:

  • darktable: commonly recommended as the closest open-source match, with workflow management plus RAW/JPEG editing in one application.
  • corel aftershot pro: formerly Bibble Pro, described by users as a complete workflow solution with strong filtering/search and the option to work with unmanaged images as well as a catalog.

If you want a free/open-source option, darktable is the strongest fit from the responses. If you're open to commercial software, AfterShot Pro is the other clear Lightroom-style alternative mentioned.

In short: for Linux, start with darktable; if it doesn’t suit your workflow, try AfterShot Pro.
