What is this triangular tube-light rig called?

I saw a music-video lighting setup that looked like three straight tube lights arranged in a triangle. I’m interested in building something similar and want to research what this type of light is called and whether there’s a photography equivalent.

Looks to me like the grown-up version of a ring light, except made into a triangle because straight tubes are available. I doubt that there's any magic behind its engineering other than "hey, what can we do with these tubes" and it turned out to work pretty well =)

If you wanted to experiment cheaply I wager than most 3D modeling packages can simulate a triangle made of tubes like this so you could previz what a real setup would look like.

It’s basically a custom geometric version of a ring light: three tube lights arranged in a triangle rather than a circle. There doesn’t appear to be a special standard name or any particular “magic” design beyond using straight tubes to create a shape that gives a distinctive catchlight and soft, wraparound look.

If you want to research photography-specific options, look into strip-style or tube-light systems; one product mentioned as a similar photo-oriented tool is the SaberStrip. You could also preview the effect before building anything by simulating three tube lights in a 3D package to see how the shape affects reflections and shadows.
