What is the default password for the Nikon WU-1b, and how can I recover it?

My phone can see the Nikon WU-1b Wi‑Fi network, but it asks for a password and I no longer know it. Is there a default password, or is there a way to reset or recover the wireless key so I can connect again with the Wireless Mobile Utility app?

Resetting the device is unlikely to work.
Connect the wu-1b to a Windows machine over wps (press the button on the wu-1b until it flashes red and green), after it is connected go to the wireless adapter settings; check and note your wireless key. Now insert it on your phone/WMU app and you should be able to connect the wu-1b.

The WU-1b does not appear to have a simple user-reset method for the Wi‑Fi password. Based on the shared solution, the practical way to recover the key is to pair the WU-1b with a Windows computer using WPS: press the button on the WU-1b until it flashes red and green, connect it via WPS, then open your wireless adapter settings on the computer and view the saved wireless key. You can then enter that key in Nikon’s Wireless Mobile Utility app on your phone to connect.
So, rather than relying on a default password, the workable approach is to retrieve the currently stored wireless key from a Windows system after WPS pairing.
