Rain cover options for the Case Logic SLRC-206 camera backpack

I'm considering the Case Logic SLRC-206 because it seems to fit my needs well: it holds a 15" laptop, has room for a camera, a few lenses and accessories, offers easy camera access, includes tripod attachment, and isn't too heavy. My main concern is weather protection. I live in a rainy climate and would prefer not to worry about my gear getting wet. Are there rain covers that fit this bag, or would it be better to choose a similar camera backpack that includes a built-in rain cover?

Usually when a bag does not have its own rain cover it is problematic to find a rain cover that fits properly. I would suggest to find a similar bag (your criteria) that has a rain cover included.

A separate rain cover can be hard to fit well if the bag wasn’t designed with one in mind. In general, if weather protection is important, it’s often better to choose a similar backpack that already includes a dedicated rain cover.

That said, some bags offer decent light-rain resistance even without a full cover. One user noted that older versions of this style had zipper flaps that were quite effective against normal rain, with a full rain cover mainly being useful in heavy downpours.

Alternatives mentioned were:

  • a Tamrac laptop backpack with an included rain cover and tripod straps
  • the Kata Bumblebee range, which was recommended as a strong option for long-term use

So if you expect frequent rain, the safest choice is to look for a comparable camera backpack with an included rain cover rather than relying on a generic add-on.
