How can I protect my camera and lens while shooting in rain or snow?

I shoot in a very rainy and snowy climate and want to keep using my camera outdoors without moisture building up on the camera body or lens. I already use a camera bag and the usual sealed-bag method when moving between temperatures to reduce condensation. One of my camera/lens combinations is weather sealed, but much of my gear is not. What can I use while actively shooting to protect the camera from rain or snow accumulation?

What about a rain sleeve like the one shown here at Amazon? Very cheap solution to your problem...

A simple rain sleeve is a practical solution. These lightweight covers are made to go over the camera and lens while you’re shooting, helping keep rain and snow off the body and lens barrel without preventing use of the controls. They’re inexpensive and especially useful for non-weather-sealed gear.
Weather sealing helps, but it’s still wise to keep moisture off the camera whenever possible. A rain cover or sleeve is the most direct way to protect the gear during use, rather than only before or after shooting.
