Nikon D3200 won’t autofocus after switching back from manual focus

I used my Nikon D3200 in autofocus for a while, then switched a lens to manual focus and focused using the focus ring. After switching the lens back from M to A, autofocus no longer works. Is the focus ring damaged, or could this be a camera setting?

It sounds a distinct possibility. Is this happening with both lenses or only one? Can you take the offending lens(es) to a camera shop and try them on a different body?
