I have a Canon FD 100-300mm f/5.6 lens, but it is not compatible with my Canon 600D. Is it worth converting the lens or using an adapter so I can mount it on this camera?

Converting the lens mount to EF so it can be used on an EOS camera would be very expensive and not worth it. Even if it were an "L" lens it would be difficult to justify the expense.

Using an FD to EF adapter will produce poor image quality due to the additional optics required to maintain infinity focus.

Your best bet is to buy a mirrorless camera because all Canon FD lenses can be mounted using a simple glass free adapter.

Probably not. Converting an FD lens to EF mount for use on a Canon 600D is generally expensive and hard to justify, especially for a non-L lens.

FD-to-EF adapters for EOS DSLRs typically need corrective glass to preserve infinity focus, and that extra optic usually reduces image quality. So while adaptation is possible in some cases, it’s usually not a good value or a good optical solution.

A better option is to use FD lenses on a mirrorless camera, where a simple glass-free adapter can be used because of the shorter flange distance. That avoids the image-quality penalty caused by optical adapters on EF DSLRs.

In short: adapting this lens to your 600D is usually not worth it; consider an EF/EF-S telephoto instead, or use the FD lens on a mirrorless body.
