I’m trying to understand whether exposure fusion should be considered distinct from HDR processing, or whether it’s basically a synonym or marketing term for a type of HDR. For example, tools like Enfuse blend multiple exposures without necessarily creating a traditional HDR file first. Is exposure fusion technically different from HDR, and should it be treated as a separate concept/tag or grouped under HDR?

"Exposure Fusion" just refers to a certain type of the tone mapping of an HDR image. It doesn't include all HDR tone mapping algorithms, and is rightly tagged as "HDR".
