In digiKam, how do you confirm an existing face tag after typing its name?

When confirming face tags in digiKam 5.3.0, pressing Enter works when creating a new tag, but when I type the name of an existing face tag and press Enter, the text resets instead of assigning the tag. What input or shortcut should be used to confirm and apply an existing face tag to the photo?

Had the same issue. I just left-click on "Confirm" and that's it. digiKam doesn't seem to like 'Enter' that much.

In digiKam 5.3.0, Enter may work for creating a new face tag but not reliably for selecting an existing one. Based on the reported behavior, the way to apply an existing face tag is to click the Confirm button with the left mouse button rather than pressing Enter. In short: for existing face tags, use Confirm instead of Enter.
