How weather-resistant is the Canon EOS 600D, and how does it compare with the 60D?

I know higher-end bodies like the Nikon D300s and Canon 7D are built for tougher conditions. Out of curiosity, how much can a Canon EOS 600D body realistically withstand? Assume a weather-resistant lens is attached, since I’m mainly asking about the body itself. Also, how does the 600D compare with the Canon 60D for weather resistance?

It's basically, not (weather resistant). I don't believe any Canon Rebel series is weather sealed or resistant to any appreciable degree more than it looks.
It may survive a light spray of water or a little beach sand depending on where it goes, how much, and how long, but its simply not sealed against such things. If you're going to be shooting in any harsh conditions consider something to protect your camera (trashbags or the like) or a sealed camera + lens.
There's a lot of conflicting information on the net about the 60d sealing, but its not. The official Canon website doesn't state it anywhere in their specs or features.

Generated from our catalog & community — verify before relying on it.
The Canon EOS 600D is generally considered to have little to no meaningful weather sealing. In practice, it may survive light spray, snow, or incidental dust, but it is not designed to be relied on in rain, sand, or other harsh conditions. Some users report getting away with brief exposure to wet or snowy conditions, but that’s anecdotal and not a guarantee.
The safest assumption is that the 600D body is not weather-resistant in any official or dependable sense. If you expect bad weather, use protection such as a rain cover or improvised cover, and avoid testing its limits.
As for the 60D, the answers suggest there is conflicting information online, but Canon does not clearly list weather sealing for it either. So based on the provided information, you should not count on the 60D as a weather-sealed body either.
Even with an L-series lens attached, overall resistance is only as good as the weakest point, so caution is still advised.
