How do you use TCM on a Godox XPro II trigger?

I upgraded from an older Godox XPro transmitter to the XPro II and noticed there is no dedicated TCM button. The specs mention TCM and a custom function for selecting the flash type, but the manual doesn’t clearly explain how to activate TTL Convert to Manual. How do you actually trigger TCM on the XPro II?

Godox simplified the function. Instead of holding down a TCM button for 2 seconds, all you need to do is change the mode for the Group from TTL to M (like on a Profoto Air). The basic steps are:

  1. Set a group to TTL.
  2. Take a photo.
  3. Select the Group button.
  4. Tap the Mode button to switch from TTL to M.

The power setting that was used in TTL is now a Manual power setting.

On the XPro II, Godox appears to have removed the dedicated TCM button and folded the function into the mode change for a group. The commonly given workflow is:

  1. Set the flash group to TTL.
  2. Take a shot so TTL can determine an output level.
  3. Select that group.
  4. Change the group’s mode from TTL to M.

If supported by your connected flash/trigger combination, the TTL-determined output is carried over as a manual power setting.

That said, one community reply reports this did not work in testing, so compatibility or operation may vary depending on the specific trigger/flash setup. In short: there’s no separate TCM button on the XPro II; the intended method is to switch the group from TTL to Manual after a TTL exposure.
